이솝 성수점은 지속가능성에 대한 이솝의 총체적인 노력이 담긴 스토어입니다. 매장의 절반 가까운 면적을 매출을 위해서가 아닌 자연을 위해서 중정으로 내어주었고, 정원은 안마당더랩과 협업하여 조성하였습니다. 그렇기에 장식하는 정원으로서 사고방식을 펼치기 보다는 자연으로서 기능할 수 있도록 고려하는데 집중했습니다. 빗물을 온전히 받고 흡수시키기 위해서 그릇처럼 지형을 꺼트림으로서 도시의 물처리 방식으로 생겨나는 문제를 완화하는데 도움을 줄 수 있습니다.이솝의 결은 시적이면서 엄격하기에 안정적입니다. 식물 선정에 있어서도 이솝의 고유한 분위기에 어긋남 없이 이어질 수 있도록 신중을 기했습니다. 분위기는 계절마다 잔잔하게 흐르며, 현재 Astilbe ‘Snow Drift’와 Itea virginica의 꽃이 올라와 눈처럼 초록 풍경에 청량함을 더하고 있습니다. 그 외에도 중성적인 느낌의 가는잎처녀고사리, 한국 숲에서 은은함을 피워내는 꿩의다리 종류, 헐떡이풀 등이 심겨지고, 3년차에 접어들어 이제 조금은 원숙한 맛을 자아내며 계속해서 자라나고 있습니다.
Aesop Seongsu is a store that reflects Aesop's total commitment to sustainability. Nearly half of the store's area is set aside for nature, not sales, and the garden was created in collaboration with Anmadangthelab, so rather than thinking of it as a decorative garden, we focused on considering how it could function as nature. By turning off the terrain like a bowl to fully receive and absorb rainwater, it can help alleviate the problems caused by the city's water treatment methods. Aesop's Atmosphere is poetic and rigorous, so it's stable. We've been careful in our plant selection to ensure that it continues to be in keeping with Aesop's unique mood. The mood flows gently through the seasons, with Astilbe 'Snow Drift' and Itea virginica currently in bloom, adding a freshness to the snowy green landscape. Other plantings include Thelypteris beddomei for its neutral feel, Talictrum, which has a subtle fragrance from Korean forests, and Tiarella, which is now in its third year and continues to grow with a slightly more native flavor.
